Legal requirements
Many of my couples are from overseas - anyone can get married in Australia, whether you are just visiting or hoping to live here. and what better place than Sydney, with some of the world’s most beautiful beaches, parks, headlands or Sydney Harbour perhaps?
Getting married in Australia is a simple affair - my couples often comment on how little red tape is involved, compared to their own countries! We can make all the arrangements by email or on the phone. The only requirement is that you sign the
Notice of Intended Marriage, have it signed by an authorised witness (usually an Australian government representative) or a Notary Public, and have it in my hands no later than a month and a day before the ceremony. Everything else can be done online or when you arrive in Sydney. I can also help you make all your arrangements for a wonderful day, from your photographer to the reception.
Have you considered making your wedding the focus of a wonderful Australian holiday? I am here to help you achieve that.

Migrating?
If you plan to marry someone who is not Australian and you are both planning to live here, they must have a visa to visit or migrate to Australia. A person may be able to migrate to Australia permanently if they are in a relationship with an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen. The relationship should be a married relationship, a de facto relationship, a prospective marriage (fiancé(e)), or an interdependent relationship. Interdependent relationships are usually a same-sex partner relationship.
For information on partner migration please refer to the Department of Immigration’s website at:
http://www.immi.gov.au/migrants/partners/sponsorship-requirements.htm
When I take your booking I will give you a letter confirming that you have lodged a Notice of Intended Marriage with me. This letter needs to be submitted to the Department of Immigration along with your application.

No contact with the Department is required if you are not planning to live in Australia afterwards.
